Scrappers

Series 1 - 3. A Bright Idea

Jane Rackham

We already know that Terry Walker is a character. But he’s also not short of an idea or two when it comes to promoting his Bolton scrap business. First of all he decides to organise an open day to celebrate 21 years of the yard, with fairground rides and “caraoke” instead of “karaoke”. He also posts a promotional video online starring young Boyle crashing about the yard, knocking over towers of old bangers like a sort of car-Jenga. It’s the sort of thing the Top Gear lot love to do. Unfortunately, Boyle has also been racing about the local roads – with the police in hot pursuit.

But the stress of it all gets to Terry and wife Lyndsay, and they have an almighty row that ends with Terry being “bin-bagged”. Not for long though.
