2/4. Tony Robinson traces the impact of global warming at the end of the last ice age, discovering it was the catalyst for the dawn of civilisation, but it also unleashed devastation. In Europe, the rise in temperature prompted an agricultural revolution, while in North Africa, a drought led Saharan refugees to settle along the River Nile, developing new social structures and going on to found the kingdom of Egypt.
