About this programme
Ever the optimist, Harold again plans to spend Christmas abroad, but doesn't count on Albert's intransigence. In predictable fashion, the old man takes umbrage at the thought of being left behind in Shepherd's Bush, and insists on inviting himself along. Much bitter wrangling ensues before - in a final plot-twist guaranteed to delight all long-time fans of the series - things turn out well for everyone. This festive edition of the vintage comedy is one of scriptwriters Ray Galton and Alan Simpson's best two-handers, and proved to be the last episode ever made. Harry H Corbett and Wilfrid Brambell star.
