Winter 2013-14 is memorable for all the wrong reasons, but don’t fear, all is well again, because Winterwatch is here. Michaela Strachan, Chris Packham and Martin Hughes-Games present from the National Trust’s Mar Lodge Estate in Aberdeenshire in the Highlands.

The location is particularly hard-hit by this most brutal of seasons so the team, using a network of cameras, will spy on wildlife to discover how it adapts to the challenges of life at its most chilly. Viewers also have a part to play as the series wants us to look out of our windows at our bird-tables to provide information that will help the experts draw a picture of the winter behaviour of garden birds.
