About this programme

In 1995, the residents of Ballycotton, Co Cork, were delighted to learn their village would be the setting of a Hollywood black comedy, due to star Johnny Depp, Debra Winger, John Hurt and Marlon Brando. However, after 10 days of shooting, dwindling funds resulted in the film being abandoned. This programme tells the story of Brando's brief time in the rural community, where he is reported to have felt more at home than anywhere else in the world.
