What a treat! Fripperies such as the physical limits of the players mean it's rare for the Premier League to dole out a full programme midweek, so enjoy this bonus MOTD now it's here.

Unless there's an extraordinary result somewhere, Manchester United v Everton is guaranteed to be first on the bill. It's the first time new Utd boss David Moyes has faced his old club, and he does so in difficult circumstances. His new team look directionless, over-reliant on Wayne Rooney and, when he's fit, Robin van Persie to outgun the opposition. The club Moyes left, on the other hand, have progressed already under Roberto Martinez, whose capture on loan of Romelu Lukaku might be the signing of the season, and who has immediately done what Moyes was reluctant to do and made young Ross Barkley the fulcrum of the team. Everton will be scenting an upset.

Elsewhere, fluid table-toppers Arsenal welcome the very solid Hull, with their increasingly England-worthy centre-back Curtis Davies; Spurs hope to continue their revival at demoralised Fulham; and Southampton try to bounce back from recent defeats against top sides by taking on lacklustre Aston Villa.
