About this programme

Around 15,000 households in America play home to monkeys, who have come to be treated by their owners as substitutes for children. As well as highlighting the trend, in which people are observed providing their simian pets with bedrooms, toys and wardrobes full of designer clothes, the documentary also investigates whether the bond will be strong enough to last the length of the animals' estimated 40-year lifespan.
