About this programme

First of a two-part documentary exploring the overthrow of the Tsar and the rise of the Soviet state, using archive footage and dramatic reconstructions. When the Tsar ordered military force to be used against the demonstrators, many soldiers began to question their loyalties, forming a revolutionary committee to plot against their commanding officers.
