Coronation Street

Episode 8459

Jim’s stash of prison booze looks suspiciously like plastic bottles filled with iced tea, but that doesn’t stop Peter from downing the lot. Jim finds him barely conscious, but will he alert the guards? Whatever happens, he’ll no doubt come out with several Jim-isms before doing anything – at the moment, actor Charlie Lawson seems to be dancing around his dialogue, chucking in his “so I am” and “what about yer?” catchphrases with abandon. Maybe the writers are just feeding the plots into a Jim Cliché Generator and using whatever it spits out.

Away from the prison, there is some light relief (finally!) when Dev inadvertently insults Julie at the gym.

About this programme

A desperate Peter tracks down Jim's stash of booze and drinks the lot, while Tony calls at No 11 offering to fix the damage and give Tyrone £1,000 to tide him over. Will he be appeased by the offer? Dev tries to win Julie round after she takes offence at his backhanded compliment, Katy calls at the garage to tell Luke they can only be friends, and Steve makes some signings for his pub cricket team.
