Hugh Laurie has suggested quite stronglyto RT that the next season of House will be the last, which should lead to mass outpourings from stricken fans of the limping curmudgeon, Dr Gregory House. But if Laurie is looking at early retirement from US TV stardom, he’ll doubtless fill his time noodling away, playing his beloved blues. We’ve long known that Laurie is an accomplished musician, confirmed when he released his first album, Let Them Talk.
Cameras follow Laurie to New Orleans, where he explores the roots of blues. He visits the city’s French Quarter and we watch as he and his band perform in a special one-off concert in a courtyard at the old Louisiana State Bank. Guests include some mighty legends: Allen Toussaint, Tom Jones and Irma Thomas. It’s a heck of a night.
