About this programme
3/17. Warton Marsh, near Preston in Lancashire, was the scene of a mid-air collision between two American bombers in 1944. An attempt by Tony Robinson and the team to establish the cause of the disaster sees them digging the aircraft out of 6ft of mud and interviewing local eyewitnesses and US pilots.
