4/17. Alerted to the presence of an Anglo-Saxon cemetery in a field in South Carlton, Lincolnshire, by artefacts found by amateur detectorists, the team sets out to establish its age, size and length of use. The discovery of a skeleton and twisted shield sends the excavation off in a new direction.
