Both the stories in this double bill are strange, heady concoctions. The first, Ballerina, stars US TV legend Carol Burnett in a guest spot that won her an Emmy nomination. She plays a wealthy ex-ballerina with a hint of Norma Desmond about her and a devoted young assistant called Chet. There are some stagey interrogation scenes along the way, but it’s worth sticking around for a chilling final twist.
About this programme
16/22. A single murder quickly becomes a case involving three bodies, leaving Benson, Stabler and a strip club owner hunting a killer whose motives seemingly stem from a misguided sense of righteousness rather than ordinary criminality. Crime drama, starring Christopher Meloni.
