An instalment of SVU can be relied on to take you on a dark journey into the small hours, and this one is no exception.
It begins with a teenage girl’s body hauled from the river. Using tricks that would shame CSI (Isotope analysis! Carbon-dating crystalline proteins!), Melinda establishes that the girl was 14 and from the Ukraine.
It looks like a sex-trafficking case, then Olivia dons a fur boa to pose as a madam, and the plot takes a disturbing left turn. Look out for the cameo by a pre-Modern Family Sarah Hyland. It’s a very different role.
