"It was like a big punch in the stomach for
Sarah Jane to meet Doctor Who again," says
Elisabeth Sladen, who was reunited
with the Doctor last year after first appearing
as his companion, investigative reporter
Sarah Jane Smith, in 1973.
Now she returns
without the Doctor in one-off drama The
Sarah Jane Adventures - a
ten-part series follows next year. "Sarah has
advantages that journalists don't normally
have," says Sladen. "Remember, she's been
in the Tardis. She recognises when things
aren't quite right; she has a nose for it."
