The show's autobiographical element - Radio Times, January 2006 |

Writer Graham Linehan may or may not be a
whizz at computing, but there's a major
autobiographical element in The IT Crowd. That's according to Chris
O'Dowd, who's back for a second series
as Roy, one half of the nerdy duo at the centre
of the sitcom.
"Graham told Richard [Ayoade], who
plays Moss, and myself that our characters
were based on him. I was him ten or so years
ago when he was around 25 and Moss is him
when he was 15! Once we found that out, it
made a lot more sense," says O'Dowd. "Will we
ever become fully-formed adults? I doubt it."
