Thanks to its late-night slot, Mitchell and Webb's surreal sitcom Peep Show has remained something of a cult hit. But it has picked up some very famous fans. "Ricky Gervais has been a staunch supporter," says David Mitchell, the dark-haired member of the duo. Let's be clear here. Ricky called it "the best British comedy on TV". "Yes, he's said some very nice things and, of course, we're very appreciative, but I don't think you should get carried away with things like that. You can't worry about the headlines. You can only worry about making good programmes. If I'm still on telly in a few years, I'll be happy."
