Hannah Waterman guest-stars - Radio Times, June 2006

Kim Newson is struck by the number of women following in their actor fathers' footsteps.

"What is it with dads having their daughters follow them into acting? Billy Murray and Hustle star Jaime Murray have both been in The Bill; Ray Winstone's princesses, Lois and Jaime, are both actresses too. Lois was in the film Last Orders with the old man, and Jamie appeared on the big screen in this year's Kidulthood. But Dennis Waterman goes one better in the New Tricks finale when he's joined by his own bricks 'n' mortar Hannah playing - what else? - Gerry's long-lost daughter. (At least, that's what she tells him.)

"The whole thing was surreal, but it was great fun," she tells RT. "I was asked if I called him 'Dad' on set. I said, 'What else would I call him?'" With a fourth series commissioned there's scope for Hannah to return. "I'm still alive at the end of the episode," she says, "and there's an obvious link in to the drama with my character, but I've no idea if they'll want me back."
