Jason Lee's career - Radio Times, January 2006 |

Anyone who can make a small-town redneck
loser seem cool must have something going on.
So just how laid-back is Jason Lee, the star of
the hit US sitcom My Name is Earl?
He was born in 1970 in the Californian resort of
Huntington Beach. But instead of the surfboard,
he took to the skateboard at the age of 13 and
later spent seven years on the pro circuit before
kinda drifting into indie movies, getting his big
break in Kevin Smith's slacker classic Mallrats.
More recently, he voiced the dastardly Buddy
Pine/Syndrome in The Incredibles.
He's
got something going on at home, too, with his
two-year-old son, the
wackily named Pilot Inspektor - "It's just an
aesthetic choice," says
Dad. Yeah, keepin' it
real, dude.
