Monaghan leaves Rings role behind - Radio Times, 10 August 2005 |

Any concerns that Dominic Monaghan
would be typecast following his
performance as impish hobbit Merry in the
Lord of the Rings movies have been quashed
by his latest role.
In US survival drama Lost, the British actor
plays scuzzy rock has-been Charlie. "Charlie
is so different from Dominic's character in
Lord of the Rings that you almost don't
recognise him," says his Lost co-star Evangeline Lilly. "I am
a die-hard Rings fan, but when we first tested
for the role, even I had no idea who he was."
