Lucky few find Hunt's handbook - Radio Times, March 2007 |

Claire Webb writes about a slick promotional campaign.
"Life on Mars has produced the niftiest piece of promo material we've
seen in ages: DCI Gene Hunt's Rules of Modern Policing. Looking like
they stepped straight out of 1973 - with coffee-mug stains, bloody
fingerprints and DC Chris Skelton's cheeky doodles - half-a-million of
the spoof training manuals were left in bars and cinemas across the UK.
If you picked one up, you'll have found DCI Hunt telling us: "What the
Guv'nor says goes. Answer back and you'll get a slap" and "never fit
anyone up who doesn't deserve it". Meanwhile, "a good kicking" is his
preferred way to get a confession from a suspect
"
If you couldn't get your hands on a copy of the rule book, you can read Gene Hunt's pearls of wisdom in our online gallery - or take a look at our full Life on Mars guide.
