Before he made his name as Sarah Jessica Parker's on-again, off-again boyfriend, Mr Big, in Sex and the City, Chris Noth had a following as Detective Mike Logan in Law & Order. But it palled. "If you do that story-driven format for five years and you're an actor, you're bound to get bored. It wears on you. And it was really wearing on me," said Noth at the time. But now he's back as Logan in the spin-off, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, making a one-off appearance tonight. From the start of next season, he's back as a regular.
