Ruth Margolis casts an eye over the actress's recent roles.
"Is Ruth Jones the best-connected actress in comedy? The
Bridgend-born star cut her teeth on Human Remains with pals
Rob Brydon and Julia Davis. Her connection to Brydon goes
way back: "I went to comprehensive school with Rob," says
Jones. "We were good friends. He gave me driving lessons."
Recently, Jones has snaffled more roles starring alongside
famous friends - as Little Britain's Myfanwy, Linda in Nighty
Night and Steve Coogan's girlfriend in Saxondale. She's also Nessa in the glorious
Gavin & Stacey - a series she co-wrote.
We think
Jones could be the next Caroline Aherne, but
she's less sure: "I see myself more as a Caroline
Quentin, but that's very kind of you to say so."
