Parminder Nagra joins ER - Radio Times, January 2004 |
 |
|
|
Despite her starring roles in the film
Bend It like Beckham and the C4 series
Second Generation, Parminder Nagra
admits to being star-struck when
she joined ER.
"It was
fantastic and rather odd," says Nagra.
"You've admired someone on TV and
then suddenly you're there acting
with them! On my first day I had
scenes with Laura Innes (Dr Weaver)
and Sherry Stringfield (Dr Lewis)."
Nagra, 28, is enjoying establishing
her character, medical student Neela
Rasgotra, with one eye on the long haul.
"We can make it up as we go along and
keep her close to me - so she likes
orange juice!" Part of the challenge is
adapting to life in LA, and coping without
her friends and family. "You have to go
where the work is. I'm giving myself
seven years out there - maximum."
