The star of Doctor Who recalls winning his role in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
"When I went to the Auf Wiedersehen audition, I assumed it was a remake with a whole new cast until they told me it was the originals plus my new character. The first day was quite weird - I watched the show when I was a kid, but never thought I'd be in it 15 years later - but the guys were really nice. Two years later I was shooting the final Thailand special when they started filming Doctor Who [in which he played Mickey]."
