Kim Newson charts the Cape Wrath actress's rise to fame.
"At 37, Lucy Cohu is challenging Sarah Parish, 38, as TV's best
late-developing actress. Parish emerged from Peak Practice
in 1999 to take her first big lead role in 2002's Cutting It, and
ever more challenging parts have followed.
Likewise, Cohu
worked through a series of support roles in her 20s, including
a sexy major in Soldier Soldier, before her 2005 portrayal of
Princess Margaret in The Queen's Sister propelled her into
the big league. She's done well in Cape Wrath, and she pulls out
all the stops as an abuse victim's mother
in C4's powerful Forgiven.
