CTU agent Jack Bauer is not looking too
good in 24, and he has
another 20-odd hours of action ahead
of him in the [third series of the] real-time thriller. Even
Kiefer Sutherland, who plays
the hero, sometimes feels concern
for his character, and insists Jack has
something to eat.
"We had a huge
argument about that," says the actor,
37. "We were somewhere around
episode seven and I really wanted him
to stop for a hot dog. The writers were
worried people were going to think that
was funny. So, no, he hasn't eaten yet."
But in episode 14, says Sutherland,
"he's finally going to start to eat. That's
what we fight about. Does he wash his
face? Does he get to eat?" And in this
third series it may all be getting too much
for Bauer: "There are a couple of places
where we've shown him falling asleep."
