24 fights climate change - for real
They're serious. After the last season was poorly received, 24's producers promised to shake things up for the new seventh series and they're going to do it by tackling climate change both on and off camera.

"We care deeply about this issue at 24 and we hope to inspire our audiences to look at what they can do in their own lives to help stem global warming," said executive producer Howard Gordon.

The production's studio sets will now be powered solely by "green electricity" created via wind, water and sunlight; fuel-saving and low-emission hybrid vehicles will be used; and power generators will be switched over to biodiesel fuel.

The aim is that over the course of the season enough energy will have been saved that the finale will effectively be carbon neutral.

Producers are not saying yet how much of the new season's story will be related to the topic, but Kiefer Sutherland has filmed the first of a series of public information films that will air over the season featuring him and major cast members.
