New-season TV: US comedy
Channel 4's The IT Crowd is being remade for NBC and will star Richard Ayoade reprising his UK role. The series was planned for a September start but has now been postponed to the less prestigious January mid-season period.

One of the few new sitcoms already guaranteed to be coming across the Atlantic is Back to You: Kelsey Grammar returns to comedy. He's a pompous local TV newscaster who took his chance to go national - only to see his career fall apart. Now he's back in the only place that will employ him. First word is positive and we'll see for ourselves when Channel 4 airs it, probably early 2008.

There are hopes for Miss/Guided, an ABC sitcom done in the style of The Office, following a woman who returns to her high school as a guidance counselor. One oddity, though, is that the show was run by Rob Thomas, creator of Veronica Mars, for about an hour. He came, he left. Creative differences were cited and that's rarely a positive sign.
