New-season TV: UK comedy and entertainment
Say hello to Graham Norton and a brand new twist on a historic show: headling BBC1's entertainment and comedy specials this season is the very first Eurovision Dance Contest. Claudia Winkleman co-hosts and it's claimed to be the biggest dance competition ever televised.

On a smaller, more intimate scale, The Omid Djalli Show (BBC1) sees the British/Iranian comedian taking pot shots at sex, death, religion, identity and modern-day life in a multi-cultural society.

This season also sees the very long-awaited return of The Armstrong and Miller Show, this time moving to BBC1 from Channel 4. New characters include Brabbins and Fyffe, the foul-mouthed alter egos of Flanders and Swann.

The Peter Serafinowicz Show: BBC2 brings us the accomplished impressionist, best known so far for Look Around You and Spaced but building a following on YouTube with his spot-on Paul McCartney and John Lennon.

And is this the very best of current Saturday night entertainment shows? Strictly Come Dancing is back for series five. Plus you can expect some famous or possibly just reasonably well-known celebrities to join ITV1's Don't Call Me Stupid. Two contestants try to learn each other's specialist topic. Brian Sewell and Phil Tufnell are confirmed.
