Russell Brand
Never have the differences between dietary fads and Zionism been more obvious. Russell Brand is one funny guy and his podcast is a compilation of the best bits from his Sunday-morning talk show on BBC 6 Music.
Brand, who you will know from Big Brother's Big Mouth and a few stand-up comedy specials, is really hot stuff right now. He's known for a lot of things: being called an unprintable but funny name by Sir Bob Geldof, having big scary hair, and possessing an original and infectious sense of the bizarre.
Some find him irritating, it's true, but these concentrated sachets of his Sunday show range from plain amusing to laugh-out-loud funny. Catch him now, because the Sunday show on BBC 6 Music is soon to be replaced by a regular Saturday show on BBC Radio 2, after which he'll probably turn into Terry Wogan.

Jamie's Podcast
When was the last time a podcast made you drool? Jamie Oliver, of course, needs no introduction: his jokey blokey manner and ingeniously simple Italian-scented cooking style has won over most of the cooking public in the UK and abroad.
These podcasts bring his ideas into the portable realm. They show you how to inspire jaded palettes, plan meals and explore fresh culinary ideas on the move or at your convenience.
Jamie also jams on hot cooking topics with an invited audience of his close friends and cooking mentors. The first episodes cover Italian food ideas, and (of course), "Cooking for Ver Lads". Nessuna sorpresa. Please note: you may need a protective cover for your laptop or iPod while listening in the kitchen.

Storynory Dot Com
You know how it is; you want to be there for your children, want to spend time with them, but let's face it - you're too darn tired. Dial up, then, Storynory's everlasting supply of bedtime stories, updated every week.
A soft-voiced actress quietly reads a range of tales, both old and new: Alice in Wonderland, fairy stories, fables, historic tales about the fall of Troy, and other kinds of childish nonsense. This way you appear to be a superparent, sitting with your kids while they listen, but sneakily texting a friend or grabbing 40 winks yourself (parenting is after all about conservation of energy).

Secret Policeman's Ball
Comedy cures international injustice. It's official. For decades, the Secret Policeman's Ball has been raising money, awareness and huge laffs in the cause of Amnesty International, the worldwide society for the prevention of cruelty to humans.
These podcasts are timed to coincide with the DVD release of the October Secret Policeman's Ball, which starred Eddie Izzard, Dylan Moran, Russell Brand and every other top-level funny person in Christendom.
The podcasts compile tasters of the jokes on offer, and feature backstage interviews with some of the cast. There are also classic performances from other balls from down the years, including spots from the late great Peter Cook. As Chevy Chase says in one of the featured interviews, comedy is all about speaking out. Having a voice for those unable to speak up for themselves was never so funny or so important.
