Channel 4 News has always been shown at 7:00pm weeknights - specifically because that means its second half is on at 7:30pm when Coronation Street starts on ITV1. Original Channel 4 head Jeremy Isaacs says: "We would be challenging when ITV was popular, serious when they were gay". Now one of the channel's most respected shows, it's fronted by Jon Snow.
