The Holby City star tells us what's taking her fancy - and what's not - on TV at the moment.

At the top of my list is Waking the Dead. The stories are excellent and not too predictable, which is always refreshing. I was particularly keen to watch this series because my friend Sharon Maughan, who played my mum in Holby City, was in the first episode. Not only did she have to work with her husband, Trevor Eve, but she played twins - it can be tough enough playing one character! I would love to be in it, even as a victim; they're often the best parts.

Like most people, I'm completely and utterly addicted to Top Gear. I even watch the repeats on Dave - that's how sad I am. Jeremy Clarkson is the main draw: clever, witty and - in my opinion - rather attractive. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times and he's even lovelier in real life.

I'm so sick of reality programmes though. Drama is really suffering because of horrible, tacky television like Big Brother, which should have canned after a couple of series. The BBC is brilliant for still making costume dramas, but ITV and C4 - which used to make fantastic low-budget movies - aren't doing anything at the moment.

The only reality show I do tune into is Strictly, but that's more like old-fashioned Saturday night entertainment. I always think the contestants are really brave; I would never do it. Although I don't feel strongly about Arlene Phillips' departure, I think it was stupid to replace her with Alesha Dixon. The whole programme is meant to be about professional judges and Alesha isn't a trained ballroom dancer. They've gone for a cheap fix there - hiring a pretty judge to try and pull in a few more viewers. I'm not sure this year is going to be quite as exciting as previous years.

Is there anything that attracts your fancy that costs more that Jeremy Clarkson's yesterday's washing bin?
