Following the departure of host Simon Amstell after three years, BBC2's irreverent pop quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks returns to our screens this autumn (Tuesday 29 September) with a new line-up.

Joining the panel this year as team captain alongside Phill Jupitus is Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding (pictured), who said: "I am so excited about Buzzcocks. I am leaping across the Camden rooftops dressed as a small white kitten."

The new series will be presented - à la Have I Got News for You - by a string of guest hosts including Alex James, Dermot O'Leary, Jack Whitehall, Rhod Gilbert, David Walliams, Frank Skinner, James Corden and Mark Watson. And with a procession of comedians fronting the show, plus Noel Fielding's surreal wit on display every week, Buzzcocks should have no problem continuing its tradition of edgy comedy combined with music trivia.

Looking forward to the latest series of Buzzcocks? What do you think of the new line-up? Post a comment below and let us know.

Noel Fielding rocks! He was brilliant as a stand in for Bill Bailey and I am glad that I get to see his sexy smile and hair ruffling every show. He is so funny espeically the satsuma la Roux still has me laughing now! I agree that the guest host are a bit hit and miss and would prefer that simon was back as presenter brutal but funny.

Shame, Simon Amstells harsh an brutal humour is right up my street. As for Noel Fielding? I cant stand him! Even that stupid quote in the description above "I am so excited about Buzzcocks. I am leaping across the Camden rooftops dressed as a small white kitten." argghghhh he grates on me so much! There is a difference between being funny and trying to be funny, and he certainly falls into the latter catagory.

Guest presenters can be a bit hit and miss, but there have been some excellent ones on Have I Got News.. so I certainly won't stop watching. Noel Fielding worked well as a stand-in for Bill Bailey; the only person I'm really not looking forward to is James Corden - at least he's only there for one week!

not even Noel Fielding and his random daftness will persuade me to watch Buzzcocks again. Simon Amstell ruined it and it is no more than a shell of its former self. Shame, I had watched since the start.

I'm not too bothered who captains or presents it, I just hope it goes back to being a funny music quiz rather than an ego fest.

Does a presenter job not seem like a good career move any more. Maybe there should be a rota of presenters that just do all the shows. Thinking about this a bit more, how could you top Boris Johnston on Have I got News? There is no one out of place I can think of...

Oh. I'm sure the guest presenters works for some, but it ended my love-affair with Have I Got New, as I am sure it will with Buzzcocks. It's just not a format that works for me.

This is excellent news - I though Fielding worked really well on Buzzcocks when he took over Bill Bailey's captaincy for a few weeks, will be great to see him on the show more regularly.
