Apprentice Kate to front new Five show

You may have noticed that this year's Apprentice runner-up Kate Walsh hasn't been entirely absent from our screens since the show ended in June. It seems that rather than sharpening her appetite for business, The Apprentice gave Kate a taste for being on telly.
Having successfully fronted a fashion spot on GMTV earlier this year, Kate is now set to share presenting duties on a new daily show on Five.
Starting next month, she'll join Melinda Messenger and Ian Wright as co-host of Live from Studio Five, a mix of showbiz gossip and news. The hour-long magazine programme airs weeknights at 6:30pm, placing it in direct competition with BBC1's own magazine The One Show, which starts half an hour later.
And while Kate swaps boardroom battles for a ratings war - and sits on a sofa schmoozing with celebs - Apprentice winner Yasmina Siadatan is still plugging away at Sir Alan Sugar's digital signage company Amscreen. Which sort of begs the question, who really came out on top?

What do you think of Kate's return to TV? Does it call into question her motives for taking part in The Apprentice? Post a comment below and let us know.

Have you seen the book that was written about this series - it's very amusing! Called "How To Survive The Apprentice!"
I bet Sir Alan will go spare!!!!!

This could cause serious damage to any children of the union when they are confronted with past episodes of The Apprentice starring their parents! It is a great pity you can't choose your parents. Good luck to them anyway!

Sorry to disappoint you Kate fan, but the otherwise sensible Miss Walsh is now reportedly engaged to Pantsman!

I am really delighted for Kate's success if it is to be in television work and anything that provides solace from The One Show is a big bonus in my book. It was Sir Alan who chose Yasmina for his Apprentice and I am fairly certain, he did not have a tv career in mind for Kate at the time. I think Kate honestly wanted to win The Apprentice and don't suspect she had ulterior motives. After all, she could have been fired in an earlier show. I wish her all the best with a tv career but hope she has ditched Pantsman!
