Their relationship was forged in the crucible of reality TV after they met on ITV's I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, and ever since then Katie Price (aka Jordan) and Peter Andre have made a point of living life in the tabloid spotlight.

They had the obligatory fluffy pink OK! magazine wedding shoot and their marriage spawned a reality show of its own - Katie & Peter - followed by a spin-off charting their move to California.

It's a row that took place on that show, Katie and Peter: the Next Chapter Stateside, that seems to have been the beginning of the end for the couple, with this morning's papers reporting that their three-and-a-half-year marriage is at an end.

But the front pages of The Sun and The Mirror put rather different spins on the story. While The Sun goes with Katie's claim that "Pete is my life… I'm devastated", suggesting that Peter instigated the split, The Mirror has Katie demanding, "Get him out of here…". Some commentators have since suggested that the break-up is yet another publicity stunt engineered by the couple and that they'll soon be back together.

So is it really the end for Katie and Peter? Or is this their latest bid for career-enhancing publicity? And if the couple's relationship is indeed over, is it a case of "live by the sword, die by the sword", or should the tabloids leave them in peace? Post a comment below and tell us what you think.

actually people do care everyone should leave katie an peter alone they split up and obviously it's going to hurt a lot a katie dealt with the split in her own way and it's hard losing someone you thought you were going to be with forever and they are focusing on their kids so just leave them alone .

i think katie made big mistake spliting up with peter cause they were a wicked couple together maybe they had there argument all cpuples do but as soon as katie and peter broke up katie has been having break downs peter does not wont alex katies new boyfriend near his kids but when and if katie and alex get married there maybe a little chance of the kids calling alex dad as peter said on the jonathon ross show on the 18th september 2009 he said he will always love katie as the mother of his kids he said he dont wont to lose his kids especially harvey peter really cares about his kids he is really cut i prefer him to alex because alex looks like a monkey no effence i have got literally on the magazines about katie and peter somethings are true and somethings are just made up i hpoe the best for katie price and peter andre and by the way i thought the marriage will last forever like peters mother and father 54 years they have been married for xxx :)

I think Katy is making a big mistake. Sure Alex is a fit bloke and yes who wouldnt....Pete is a sensible man, he has took the flack from katie but Jordan is rubbing his nose in it...Let Pete find The One now...

i think it is all a load of crap. i think it is a publicty stunt. i understand why pete is famous. but katie, famous for getting her kit off. wow what an example to set on kid to be famous for. NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It makes me smile when people say things such as "I think that the media should leave them alone" because without the media, people such as Pete and Kate wouldn't have a life. Everything they do is geared towards column inches, courting fame and fortune for having absolutely no talent what so ever and I guarantee they will get back together, milk the papers and magazines for all they're worth and laugh all the way to the bank whilst their children being the only ones who suffer!

i think that although what Katie said was higly wrong, like 'Cas' said, there are two sides to every story, and before people start to judge Katie they should take a look at the way Peter handled the situation. Personally, if Peter was my husband i would never have let him talk to me like that, and call me a f***ing bitch! it's disrespectful and it doesnt matter whatever the case, a man should never treat a woman like that! so before people start saying that it's all Katie's fault, they should look a bit closer at the whole situation. And we dont no what happens when the cameras arent there, and at the end of the day we dont have enough proof to blame this on Katie. at the end of the day she might be the one that cant handle her drinking and she might be the one that causes most of the arguments, but a bitch is no way to call a woman.

I don't care if we never hear of Peter and Katie ever again, but, you know, I doubt that will happen. They deserve each other or being without each other, but my heart goes out to the children. I tend to agree that it might be one big publicity stunt.

They get together in I'm a Celebrity and the PR guys propose a 4 year deal in which they live their lives in the tabloid press, have a couple of kids and after 4 years go their separate ways after the mind boggling gullible public have spent millions of pounds buying the lie. I watched the show once and really got the impression that he disliked (and so probably resented) Katie's obvious lack of verbal tact and care in front of their small children. She seems very loving to her children but for his sake and for the kids sake, needs to behave more privately I feel. But then I guess being that kind of 'reveal all to all' person is what made her famous in the first place! Perhaps Peter should have thought more about what he was getting into first? Perhaps for him it was also too much of good career opportunity? They both seem like good people and despite being hard working and devoted to family, ultimately I don't think Katie Price is as respectible as he would really like (don't forget his Greek origins too!!)

I saw the show with them fighting but iam still shocked. I feel sorry for the kids if it is true. Peter was always shown spending lots of time with them.

It seems hypocritical for the media to suggest its a stunt engineered by K and P when it is equally if not more likely to be a stunt engineered by the media. This tosh sells papers after all.

I can't believe it - I so thought their relationship was rock solid, I actually feel duped and rather let down all in all. Peter, why couldn't you have given it one last go??????? say it isn't so!!!!! I'm sure you could work things out given time and help from management! Think of the children, poor old Harvey already has enough to contend with without having a strong male role model in his life.
