Celebrity Big Brother - days 3-5

When Big Brother announced that Lucy would be reading the news "in briefs" for the talent show, I fancied I could hear the cheering of men around the country. A bit of a letdown, then, when she started slagging off Gordon Brown while wearing a cardigan. Lucy getting her legs out and talking about the Labour Party seems to be missing the point. That's not her talent.
Who knew LaToya Jackson would come out of her shell so readily if you just dressed her up like a jester? Her Coolio impersonation - "you got two hos rubbin' you
get one on that table" - was a revelation. I guess it's in the Jackson genes to only really let go when you're performing (although you might have wished she hadn't during the talent show task).
Meanwhile, Michelle is starting to get on my nerves. When Coolio jokingly wondered if there might be an attraction between her and Ben, it quickly degenerated into tears - "he's making something out of absolutely nothing." No, you are. "Upsetting people in the outside world over nothing
playing with people's minds and people's hearts." Er, what? The only thing that has made anyone think you and Ben might actually have a history is your reaction.
After Michelle, it was Tommy's turn to get paranoid - not to say a little hopeful. Would his dancing with Michelle, subjected to BB's evil editing, make it appear that something was going on between them? Michelle's response was rather different in this case: "I really don't think that anyone would ever think
" Sorry, Tommy.
Tomorrow night, Lucy and Ulrika face the public vote. I'm torn as to who I'd like to stay. Ulrika's getting a bit uptight and grumpy, and she's been unfair to Terry, who was in a no-win situation when he nominated her. On the other hand, she can be quite dry and self-deprecating - and there's always the chance she might totally lose it. I can't find much to dislike about Lucy, plus she does a good Geordie accent and doesn't take herself too seriously. By my reckoning, that puts her one up on Michelle.
