Q Are there any plans for the new Freesat to provide a broadband internet service?
Martin de Wolf, Westenhanger, Kent
A It's a nice thought, given that many Freesat customers might be in more remote areas - but no, Freesat tell us they have no such plans.

FAO tony parker - We put your question to Freesat and this is what they said: "Freesat is a not-for-profit free digital TV service, offering 140 channels including HD programming from the BBC and ITV. Freesat is not an internet service provider (ISP) and as such does not offer broadband packages like ISP's, such as BT, Talk Talk and Virgin. Freesat will, however, be launching 'catch-up' and 'on demand' television services, such as the BBC iPlayer, in the future."

What is the reason given by Freesat not to even consider proving internet service? I would want it too.
